Rev.
Robert A. McKoy, is the Pastor of CrossWay International Community
Church in Owings Mills, Maryland an expanding suburb in the Northwest
section of Baltimore County. He was installed as Senior Pastor in
June 2005 after serving as the church’s Associate Pastor.
Pastor
Robert has been married to Darsna Paula (Dee) for 20 years
and they have four children Michael (17), Nicole (13), Alexandra (12)
and Brittany (8).
Robert
is a native Baltimorean growing up in the northwest section Baltimore
City and graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in
Accounting from Loyola College. After graduating he was quickly
rising up the corporate ladder in the financial world when he
attended an event at the invitation of his sister. During this
evangelistic event held by former Oriole the late Pat Kelly he was
“born again” by trusting Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and
Savior. From this point forward the Mark 8:36 “For
what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world,
and lose his own soul” took on a new and significant personal meaning.
After
joining the family of God, Pastor Robert joined Colonial Baptist
Church and was on fire for the Lord. This fire led him to serve in
various capacities in the church, treasurer, trustee, Sunday school
teacher and ultimately deacon. In 2003, Colonial announced plans to
start a new work in the Owings Mills area with an emphasis on
multi-cultural ministry. After much family prayer, Pastor Robert and
his family felt led of the Lord to be a part of this new work.
Pastor
Robert started his formal training at Capital Bible Seminary and
later transferred to the Southern Theological Seminary in Louisville,
Kentucky where he is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity.
Pastor
Robert is bi-vocational and in his secular employment is CFO/COO for
the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maryland Chapter. When not
working and ministering, he enjoys reading, sports and most
importantly spending time with Dee and his children.
